Indian Textiles & Patterns

Researching into the Oxen & cows within Indian culture. Has revealed that the cows are a very sacred animal within there culture, they get treated with the upmost respect. Festivals are held for the animals, at these they are highly decorated.

Horns painted in varying bright colours. Feathers hung from them as a sign of good luck & fortune. Flowers spread across them.

Taking that one step further have been looking into Indian Textiles, the colours used, the repetitive patterns, how they have been influenced by areas of India and the availability of the textile.

Got a range of pictures taken out of John Gillows Indian Textiles 1st Edition book. The images show varying patterns that i like, that could be implemented onto the Oil company logo, some that would be two complicated when working on a smaller scale. Wanted to show a range of textiles.
