He uses a wide range of colours, overlaying them onto one another. Running exhibitions, workshops & short courses in which he passes on his knowledge regarding letterpress. As well as creating work for corporate identities, magazine and book covers and illustrations, his work has also featured on postage stamps, theatre posters, shop windows, billboards, signage.

Has had a huge wide range of clients over the years ranging from Borough Market, The British Library, Creative Review, D&AD, Dazed & Confused, The Guardian, The National Theatre, Penguin Books, The Times, Royal Mail, Saatchi & Saatchi, Scheufelen Paper, Clark’s Shoes, Random House,AOL and the Tate Modern.

Personally really like these of overlaying text & objects, using several colours, it brings a great vibrancy to the work. The range of textures varying through pieces. He has a distinct style that you would be able to recognise.

We have looked into alan in regards to our own experimental letterpress work, following link to what we produced. Bob Gill experimental letterpress.
